Join us as we honor our veterans!
Abingdon Elementary invites second-grade families and all veteran families to our Veterans Day Celebration on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, from 2:30–3:00 p.m. in the school gymnasium.
The program will feature the presentation of colors by GHS NJROTC, recognition of local veterans, a musical performance by our second graders, and student speakers from Anchored4Life.
Second-grade performers are invited to wear red, white, and/or blue!

I am excited to invite you to Abingdon Elementary School to meet and get to know me on Thursday, July 30. Families may stop by anytime between 9:00–11:00 a.m. or 5:00–7:00 p.m.

The national Speak Up is the first survey designed to help families share their ideas about the use of technology in schools directly with schools and national policymakers. Speak Up provides parents and guardians with a mechanism for expressing their views to the administrators at their child(ren)’s school and division about key issues impacting their child(ren)'s education.
Since 2003, Speak Up has collected and shared the views of more than 6.3 million students, teachers, and parents/guardians from across the country. By participating in the Virginia Speak Up, you are expressing your views to a wider audience of local, state, and national policy makers —and contributing to the national dialogue about how best to prepare students for the future.
