Anchored4Life Club is a peer-to-peer club to connect youth while building change and resiliency skills.

Due to the number of military connected students we have here, Abingdon qualifies for the Anchored4Life program. Anchored4Life is a military-funded program that benefits not only our military-connected students, but our whole school. The club consists of four 4th and four 5th grade team leaders and crew members from every 1st through 5th grade class. The club members are selected by teachers and staff based off traits demonstrated such as respect, responsibility, and compassion.

Students at Abingdon benefit from the program as a whole through peer-to-peer support from our team leaders who provide support to military students going through transitions related to military life and providing tours to any new students. Team leaders may also lead small group activities with students based on specific needs such as friendship, self-esteem, and conflict resolution. Crew members are located throughout the building in every classroom to welcome and provide daily support to any new students joining Abingdon throughout the year.

We are lucky to have this program and proud to have such a wonderful Anchored4Life club.
