Tomorrow (Monday, Jan 26) is now a VIRTUAL LEARNING DAY! No buses, no car line, and yes… pajama dress code is fully approved.
Students should work on the remote learning packets that were sent home last week. Time to grab those pencils, find a cozy spot, and show that panther pride from home. 🐾📚
👉 Need another copy of the packet? Digital grade-level packets can be found here:
https://abingdon.gc.k12.va.us/o/abi-es/page/remote-learning
Parents, this is your official reminder that the packet is in a very safe place that no one remembers putting it in. Good luck on the scavenger hunt. 😂
Stay warm and safe, everyone!

Hey Abingdon Families,
Our amazing SCA is kicking off a Food Drive to support Abingdon families in need during these uncertain times. Their goal is simple but powerful: neighbors helping neighbors. 💙💛
Starting Monday, November 3rd, we’ll begin collecting food donations each morning from 9:00–9:15 AM in the front commons. We’ll be accepting both perishable and non-perishable items, so any contribution helps!
If you’d rather donate financially, monetary donations are also welcome, and every penny collected goes straight to Abingdon families in need. 💛
Here are a few ideas of what you can donate:
🥫 Canned fruits, veggies, soups, and beans
🍝 Pasta, rice, instant potatoes, and boxed meals
🍞 Bread, rolls, and baked goods
🧈 Fresh produce, milk, eggs, and other perishables
🧃 Juice boxes, snacks, and breakfast items
🧻 Paper towels, toiletries, and hygiene products
💡 Helpful Idea:
Consider shopping for a meal for four to make a complete family dinner kit!
For example:
1 lb ground beef • 1 jar spaghetti sauce • 1 box noodles • 1 can of green beans • 1 loaf of bread
Thoughtful donations like these can go a long way toward easing the burden for a local family.
💎 Gem House Challenge!
We’ll be tracking contributions by Gem House, and the House with the most donations will earn a special reward! Let’s see which Gem House will shine the brightest while helping our community! ✨
🗓️ Distribution information will be shared soon, so families in need of assistance will know how to receive items as the drive concludes.
Let’s come together as one big Panther family to make a difference, one can (or coin) at a time!
Thanks for always showing that Abingdon heart. Neighbors helping neighbors truly is what it’s all about. 💙
